In an attack that left six people in central California dead, a teenage mother and her 10-month old baby were both fatally shot in their heads “assassination-style”
At 3.38 AM on Monday, authorities received a call about multiple shots fired at a Goshen residence. This town is 170 miles from downtown Los Angeles.
Police say that a gunman shot multiple shots into Alissa Parraz, 17, and then killed Nycholas, her child, while they ran from the attacker.
The four other victims, all of whom are related, ranged in age from 19 to 72, including Ms Parazz’s grandmother, who was killed as she slept.
Police are investigating whether the family was targeted by a gang/drug cartel and are currently on the lookout for two suspects.
Mike Boudreaux, Tulare County Sheriff, stated that Ms. Parrazz attempted to flee but was stopped by a gunman who fired multiple shots at her.
He stated that it was clear that the family was a target.
He stated that none of it was accidental.
Home is linked to gangs & drugs
He said that the gunmen had no reason to kill the mother and child.
Authorities stated that they were looking for two suspects, and offered $10,000 for any information leading to their arrest.
Although Mr Boudreaux claimed that the home was linked to gangs, drugs, he said on Tuesday that he had retracted his earlier comments that violence was likely to be a cartel hit and that investigators are still investigating that possibility.
Although the sheriff mentioned gang activity at the house in the past, he said that not all who were shot were drug dealers or gang members.
