Authorities in Florida arrested two people after one of them called 911 to request help with moving their belongings out of a house they were burgling.
After a 911 call, officers in Polk County went to a house and nobody spoke.
After entering through an unlocked door, the officers discovered a suspect male and his girlfriend in the house.
Officers were told that the woman called 911 to request assistance in moving their belongings out of the home they were burgling.
The Polk County Sheriff’s Office also said that she called to ask if she could be taken to New York to spend the weekend.
The office posted on Facebook: “Deputies DID assist them with their belongings and DID give them rides, but not to the airport… it’s to the Polk Pokey.”
“They are welcome to stay all weekend. The Polk Pokey is better than New York, anyway.
According to the sheriff’s offices, officers were searching for the suspect male after identifying him on security video as a burglar at Poinciana Dollar General Store, 35 miles south-east of Orlando. There, several items had been stolen earlier in the day.
The man was charged with theft and burglary related to the store as well as burglary of a dwelling.
The woman was charged for burglary of a dwelling.
