The Belgium-born actress was also nominated four more times for an Oscar.

Marc Bolan was the enigmatic frontman of 70s band T Rex.

He was known for his flamboyant style and electrifying stage presence.

He mixed rock and folk music and recorded some of the 70s best songs – Ride a White Swan Get It On, We L Boogie anCentury Boy..

His music is still a playlist favourite for nostalgia driven radio stations throughout the UK.

He married his music with an outrageous dress sense – being one of the first front men to openly wear make-up.

He wore feather boas and ridiculously high boots.

Bolan died in a car crash in 1977

The blue plaque will be placed at his Richmond home.
