A Colt 45 gun owned by Al Capone – once America’s “Public Enemy Number One” – is to go on show for the first time.
He named the weapon “sweetheart”, saying she’d saved his life “many times”.
The gun is part of an exhibition at the Mob Museum in Las Vegas.
After “Scarface” Capone’s death from natural causes in 1947, most of his belongings stayed within the family.

One of the most cherished items was the Colt .45.
Diane Capone Pette, 81, granddaughter of the mobster, said:
“He called her his sweetheart.
“She saved him and so she was very special to him and so very special to us.”
Geoff Shumacher, historian and vice president of exhibits and programmes at the museum, said:
“This is a slice of life that you can get nowhere else except at the museum.”
Despite being linked to many murders – including the St Valentine’s Day Massacre – the mobster and bootlegger was arrested in 1931 for tax evasion.
A year later he was convicted and sentenced to 11 years in Atlanta and Alcatraz federal prisons.
