Jailed tennis ace Boris Becker is to be deported to Germany after serving seven-months in prison.
The three times Wimbledon winner could be home for Christmas.
Becker, 54, has been approved for a scheme to send foreigners who commit crime in the UK to be sent back.
The programme is a bid to free up resources in Britain’s already overcrowded jails.
Becker was sentenced to two and a half years last April after being found guilty of hiding £2.5 million in assets while bankrupt.
A spokesman for Becker said they were “pleased’ he might return to Germany – “albeit England has been his home for many, many years.”
He added: “I’m sure it will mean a lot to him and his family to be reunited for Christmas.”
