The Mayor of London Sadiq Khan plans to decriminalize drugs in the capital – ending the prosecution of young offenders caught with cannabis.
Under-25s in some London boroughs found with Class B drugs will be offered counselling instead of arrest.
The boroughs earmarked for the scheme are Lewisham, Bexley and Greenwich.
Police officers will be told not to arrest youngsters caught with hash, ketamine, and speed.
Instead, offenders will be taken back to their family homes and kept away from police custody.
