Britain’s terror threat has been increased to “severe” following the car bomb explosion at a Liverpool hospital.
The change in level means an attack is “highly likely”.
The escalation was announced by Home Secretary priti Patel.
She said: “The Joint Terrorism Analysis Centre are now increasing the United Kingdom’s threat level from substantial to severe.
“And there’s a reason for that, and that reason is because what we saw yesterday is the second incident in a month.”
Prime Minister Boris Johnson has chaired a meeting of the Government’s emergency committee COBRA
