Eddie Howe is the new manager of Newcastle United.
He takes over as head coach from Steve Bruce who was sacked last month.
Newcastle are currently 19th in the Premier League table.
Howe, the manager at Bournemouth until August 2020, has signed a contract that will keep him at St James’ Park until 2024.
He said:
“This is a wonderful opportunity, but there is also a lot of work ahead of us.
“I am eager to get onto the training ground to start working with the players.
“I would like to thank the club’s owners for this opportunity and thank the club’s supporters for the incredible welcome they have already given me.
“I am very excited to begin our journey together.”
Newcastle co-owner Amanda Staveley said the club had been “incredibly impressed” by Howe.
She said: “He is a great fit for what we are trying to build here.”
