Parts of London are underwater after more than an inch of rain fell in less than an hour.
Flash flooding in posh Knightsbridge saw luxury shops under water.
The city’s drains were unable to cope with the Biblical proportions of rain.
Transport was also hit by the deluge.
Buses were unable to drive along the flooded streets and four Tube lines were suspended or delayed.
The Meteorological Office tweeted:
“Torrential rain continues to move east this morning, with localised flooding possible.
“St James’s Park in London has recorded 26mm (just over an inch) of rain in the past hour.”
