Britain’s teenage tennis sensation Emma Raducanu is through to the finals of the US Open.
In two breath taking sets she beat Maria Sakkari 6-1, 6-4 to book a place in sporting history.
The 18-year-old is the youngest Briton to reach a grand slam final in more than 50 years.
The last Briton to lift the trophy was Virgina Wade in 1968.
She is also the first qualifier – men or women – to reach the final.
Afterwards Emma said:
“Honestly, the time here in New York has gone so fast.
“Before you know it, it’s three weeks later and I’m in the final.”
With only one game away from tennis glory, Raducanu laughed off being under pressure.
She said: “I’m a qualifier. There’s no pressure on me at all.”
Raducanu will play another teenager – Leylah Fernandez – in the final.
