Nicola Sturgeon – Scotland’s First Minister – is self-isolating after meeting someone suffering from Covid-19.
Ms Sturgeon revealed on Twitter she had been contacted by the NHS test and Protect team.
She tweeted:
“I’ve had notification that I’ve been identified as a close contact of someone who is positive for Covid.
“Accordingly, and in line with the rules, I’ll be self-isolating pending a PCR test result.
“My thanks to all the contact tracers working so hard in NHS Test & Protect.”
National Clinical Director Prof Jason Leitch said Ms Sturgeon did not have symptoms.
“I haven’t spoken to her this morning – I may well have heard from her if she had symptoms though, so she is well.”
