The container ship Ever Given that jammed the Suez Canal – costing global trade £6 billion a day – has passed through the waterway without incident.
The ship was among a convey of 26 vessels sailing from the Mediterranean Sea to the Red Sea.
The Suez Canal Authority (SCA) was escorted along the 120-mile canal by two tug boats.
It had recently off-loaded its cargo in Rotterdam, Felixstowe, and Hamburg and is now travelling to China.
The Ever Given was stuck fast for six days in March before being inched free.
It was then impounded for three months as a compensation deal was hammered out between the Egypt and the ship’s owners.
