Presenter Andrew Neil might not return to GB News – the fledgling right-leaning channel launched only weeks ago.
The former BBC political heavyweight is said to have fallen out with Aussie chief executive Angelos Frangopoulos.
Neil, 72, is the chairman and leading presenter on the news channel.
Only weeks after going to air amid some chaos Neil decided to take a break at his French holiday home.
He is yet to return.
There is now speculation he won’t come back.
A source at GB News said:
“We genuinely have no idea if Neil will quit or not.
“However, there has been a massive personality clash between him and the chief executive.”
The differences derive from the premature launch of GB News and its technical problems.
However, a GB News spokesman said:
“We look forward to Andrew Neil’s return from holiday in September to host his 8pm show.
“We are enormously proud of our progress in only eight weeks.
“As a start-up, we continue to move at lightning speed, learning, refining and growing constantly.”
