Prime Minister Boris Johnson and his Chancellor Rishi Sunak will not be isolating despite being “pinged” by NHS Test and Trace.
Health Secretary Sajid Javid has placed himself into isolation after testing positive for Covid-19.
Only the day before he had meetings with the PM in Downing Street.
A Number 10 spokesman said:
“The Prime Minister and Chancellor have been contacted by NHS Test and Trace as contacts of someone who has tested positive for COVID.
“They will be participating in the daily contact testing pilot to allow them to continue to work from Downing Street.
“They will be conducting only essential government business during this period.”
Last year Mr Johnson was in hospital fighting for his life after contracting the coronavirus.
