Senior producers on Good Morning Britain have held a “crisis” meeting after a disastrous on-air interview with former EastEnders actress Patsy Palmer.
Ms Palmer, 48, was furious when she saw the caption to her name – “Addict to Wellness Guru”.
She stopped the interview from her home in Malibu, California, with hosts Susanna Reid and Ben Shephard.
Obviously cross, she said: “You know what, I don’t even want to do this interview.
“I don’t even want to look what it says at the bottom of that screen.
“So, I am just going to switch off, do a real Piers Morgan, and say it’s not okay to have ‘addict to wellness guru’ on the bottom of the screen.”
It’s the second time in two weeks the ITV GMB show has had someone walk-off live.
Piers Morgan quit after a row on set with weatherman Alex Beresford after he berated the presenter for his comments about Meghan Markle.
Morgan’s strident dismissal of the Duchess’ story has prompted the biggest ever complaint to television watchdog Ofcom.
After the Ms Palmer interview went terribly wrong senior producers were called to a meeting to discuss the programme’s on-going problems.
A show source told The Sun:
“On Thursday, the GMB production team were summoned to a meeting about the handling of Patsy’s chat.
“Her interview was viewed as a disaster as obviously upsetting anyone is the last thing anyone would want.
“It was made clear to some members of the team that this was a crisis meeting as there were issues that needed addressing quickly.”
