Scotland’s First Minister Nicola Sturgeon has said sorry after breaking her own coronavirus rules over wearing a face mask.
Ms Sturgeon admitted she had made a “stupid mistake” after being caught out at a wake.
She was photographed talking to three elderly ladies in an Edinburgh pub without a mask.
Ms Sturgeon has been a vehement advocate of insisting people stick to the rules.
In a statement she said:
“Last Friday, while attending a funeral wake, I had my mask off briefly.
“This was a stupid mistake and I’m really sorry.
“I talk every day about the importance of masks, so I’m not going to offer any excuses.
“I was in the wrong, I’m kicking myself, and I’m sorry.”
