Former Labour MP Eric Joyce has been sentenced to eight months in prison – suspended for two years – after making an indecent picture of a child.
He was also ordered to do 150 hours of unpaid work.
Joyce, 59, was the Labour MP for Falkirk between 2000 and 2012.
He left the party and served as an independent from 2013 to 2015.
The former army major was found with a 51 seconds’ clip on a device which showed children as young as 12 months old.
Joyce, of Worlingworth, Suffolk, pleaded guilty at Ipswich Crown Court to the offence, which took place between August 2013 and November 2018.
He must sign the sex offenders register after his admission.
