Amateur artist Jamie Matthias has been flooded with commissions after posting a “terrible” picture of his wife.
Jamie, 41, put the picture of Kate on Instagram.
Within hours, thousands of people viewed the “poor” portrait – and wanted one themselves.
Accountant Jamie paints his pictures from family snaps.
He said: “I’ve painted for years but had no idea they were so bad until people started telling me.
“I don’t mean to paint badly but it’s just the way they turn out.
“I try to create an alternate universe where proportions have no meaning.

Kate, 40, said: “It’s just the most ridiculous thing you’ve ever seen.
“We’ve had so much fun laughing at his inability to paint.”
Mr Matthias now has a five-week waiting list for orders.
He spends two hours an evening working on commissions.
He said: “I find painting really relaxing so I did some for the friends and family over Christmas.
“The reactions were priceless.
“I thought I’d stick them out there and see if anyone wanted one.”
Mr Matthias and Kate set up a Facebook and Instagram account called Terrible Art by Jamie Lee.
He said: “It blew up from there.
“We have orders all over England, Scotland, Wales and even Northern Ireland.
“We’re at 71 orders now, and we put it up after New Year’s Day.
“The pictures are acrylic paint on canvas and cost from £25 plus postage.
“It’s very cheap for an original.”
