Premier League side West Ham have sacked their manager Julen Lopetegui after only six months at the club.
Spaniard Lopetegui took charge of the London club last July.
He replaced veteran boss David Moyes.
Under Lopetegui the Hammers have won just six Premier League games.
A 4-1 drubbing by Manchester City last week left Wolves in 14th place and seven points above the relegation zone.
Wolves have held “short contract” talks with former Chelsea and Brighton manager Graham Potter.
His one job is to avoid dropping into the Champions League.
West Ham said in a statement:
“The first half of the 2024/25 season has not aligned with the club’s ambitions, and the club has therefore taken action in line with its objectives.
“The board would like to thank Julen and his staff for their hard work during their time with the Hammers and wish them every success for the future.
“The process of appointing a replacement is under way.”
