Volodymyr Zelenskyy criticized the Kyiv mayor over provision of emergency shelters. This is a sign that there has been discontent among Ukrainian leaders since the invasion by Russia.
The president stated that Vitaliklitschko a boxing legend and politician had not done enough for the capital to cope with the most severe strikes of war in Moscow.

Many regions in Ukraine were affected by blackouts this week. While the number of people currently affected has fallen from 12 million just a few days back, Mr. Zelenskyy stated that “the greatest problems” were in Kyiv.
He said, “Unfortunately local authorities have not performed well at all cities,” in his nightly video address.

Ukraine’s ‘invincibility centres’
After Russia‘s aerial bombardment of its neighbor’s energy infrastructure, an apparent cynical effort to inflict maximum winter damage, Ukraine has been creating “invincibility centers”.
These shelters provide emergency services where people have access to heat, water, and internet.
There have been more than 4,000 of them, but not enough in Kyiv, according to Mr Zelenskyy.
His president has not responded to Mr Klitschko , a key face of the Ukrainian resistance, since Vladimir Putin began his full-scale invasion in February.
Ukrenergo, the operator of the nation’s power grid, said that its engineers are working “around the clock” in order to restore energy supplies. However, 30% remain unaccounted for despite the reconnection of Ukraine’s nuclear power stations.
Three of them are located in Ukrainian territory, while one is in Russian Zaporizhzhia. After being forced to close for the first time since 1940, they were all able to reopen late Friday.

On Friday Mr Putin defended the invasion in a meeting with mothers of Russian military personnel.
He said that Russia is all about the people, their culture and their traditions. Their history is also passed down through generations and absorbed by mother’s milk.
“Unity is the main guarantee of our success.”
While Putin was enjoying tea, his Ukrainian counterpart went north to Kyiv to see damage to buildings and to inspect one of the new emergency centers.
The president met earlier with James Cleverly, the UK foreign secretary, who promised continued British support and denounced Russia’s “brutal attack”.

This comes just before Ukraine marks the 90th anniversary the Holodomor Famine. The country recognizes it as a genocide committed against its citizens by Soviet leader Joseph Stalin.
Historians disagree about whether the famine that killed millions of Ukrainians was an intentional attempt to end independence movements or a failed nationalization policy.
Stalin ordered police to seize grain and livestock from Ukrainian farms.
Cleverly visited Kyiv to accuse Putin of similar attempts to starve Ukraine’s citizens.
