The Duke of Marlborough – also known as Jamie Blanford – has lost his Porsche Cayenne after not keeping up with the payments.
The Duke – the 12th – inherited part of his father’s £36 million estate.
His home is Blenheim Palace – one of the finest stately homes in Britan.
It has been used in countless films and television series.
A judge ordered the Duke, 66, to hand back the £136,000 car he bought in 2018.
Court documents show that Volkswagen Financial Services UK, the lender, wrote to the Duke, named as Charles Spencer-Churchill, 66, in February demanding that he return the vehicle.
Georgina Muschamp, for the company, said:
“The defendant [the Duke of Marlborough] has refused and/or failed to do so.”
The Duke was said not to be in court to hear the judgment against him.
District Judge Richard Lumb ruled that VW Financial Services could recover the Porsche from the peer, who was ordered to pay £602 in costs by Tuesday.
Court papers show he paid £67,721.64 for the Cayenne EST Turbo Tip S car, leaving £64,472.70 of outstanding balance.
