Thousands of holidaymakers were caught up overnight in mile long queues to use the Channel Tunnel.
Motorists were held up on the M20 near Folkstone for ten hours after the train terminal was hit by an electrical fault.
It’s reported a train was also stuck inside the Tunnel and passengers had to be evacuated.
Operator Eurotunnel apologised for the delays and confirmed they were down to a “technical fault with the overhead power supply”.
Many people caught up in the horror start to the half-term holidays said Eurotunnel had been “chaotic and disorganised” in handling the problem.
