A crucial power link between Britain and France will not be fully working for another two years.
The connector infrastructure in Kent was fire-damaged last month.
It was hoped to have it up and running again by March 2022.
But an update from National Grid said “extensive work” was needed to return safely the service.
National Grid said: “We are completely focused on getting IFA safely returned to service as soon as possible and ensuring we are able to support security of supply.”
