Prince Andrew and Victoria Giuffre
Prince Andrew has been “served” with court papers alleging he sexually assaulted a teenage girl.
The documents were handed to royal protection officers at Windsor Castle.
It was reported the Prince “fled” to Balmoral Castle earlier this week to prevent the papers being served on him personally.
A judge in New York will decide next week if the legal documents have been served within the law.
The writ includes an allegation by Ms Virginia Giuffre that the Prince had sex with her in London when she was aged 17.
Ms Giuffre, now 38, said she was “given” to the Prince by his paedophile friend Jeffrey Epstein.
She had been allegedly “recruited” into Epstein’s sex trafficking ring by Ghislaine Maxwell – daughter of the disgraced press baron Robert Maxwell.
Ms Maxwell – a former girlfriend of both Epstein and Prince Andrew – is currently in a New York jail awaiting trial.
Prince Andrew – who strongly denies all the allegations – has until September 17th to respond to the writ.
