Sajid Javid is the new Health Secretary – replacing Matt Hancock who quit after being caught on camera with his “lover”.
Mr Hancock admitted he had breached social distancing rules.
Mr Javid, 51, will return to the cabinet after he resigned last year as Chancellor in a power struggle within Number 10.
The appointment means the Prime Minister Boris Johnson can avoid a major re-shuffle following Mr Hancock’s departure.
Mr Javid is an experienced cabinet member, having previously run five Government departments – including the Treasury and Home Office.
