Prince Harry will travel from his new California home to Britain for his grandfather Prince Philip’s funeral.
However, it is reported he will not be joined by his wife Meghan.
The Duchess of Sussex is expecting the couple’s second child – a daughter – and doctors have recommended against flying to the UK.
A family friend told Bazaar:
“The Duchess has made every effort to travel alongside The Duke, but unfortunately, she did not receive medical clearance from her physician.”
The funeral will take place on April 17th in St George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle.
The visit will be Prince Harry’s first since stepping back from royal duties.
It is also the first time he will come face-to-face with his father Prince Charles and brother Prince William since the controversial interview with Oprah Winfrey.
The funeral is at 15.00 and will begin with a nationwide minute’s silence.
Adhering to Government Covid-19 restrictions, thirty people will attend the service.
A Buckingham Palace spokesman said:
“People turning up at Windsor Castle on Saturday will not be able to see anything.”
