A sculpture of the world-famous Lincoln Imp has raised chuckles over its “dangling leg”.
The full-sized statue is part of Lincoln’s Imp Trail that opens in the city in the summer.
But at its unveiling people gasped when they quickly spotted the position of the imp’s leg.
Lorraine commented on social media: “It hangs rather unfortunately.”
Another wrote: “That’s an unfortunate placement.”
And a third said: “Just don’t paint it pink.”
The statue is a copy of the Imp that sits among the Angel Choir in Lincoln Cathedral.
The legend goes that the Devil sent the Imp into the cathedral to cause mischief, only for an angel to turn it into stone.
The look-a-like imp was designed by Wild in Art.
A spokesperson said: “The mischievous response on social media is in the spirit of the imp and shows that people are looking forward to this event.
“Once decorated the sculptures, which are based on Lincoln’s iconic imp will make a vibrant, colourful and fun art trail celebrating the city.”
